Naval Horizons Essay Contest

Naval Horizons is an essay contest sponsored by Naval STEM for the Department of the Navy that introduces students to cutting-edge Science. Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) topics that impact the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps - to include autonomy, oceanography, cybersecurity, undersea medicine, and more. As part of New Horizons Credit Union's endeavor to further education and during Military Appreciation Month, we invite interested New Wave Members in grades 9-12 to learn about the Naval STEM challenges and their scientists and engineers through their website and video series. Then, we encourage students to write an essay explaining how their research and people inspire them. This contest challenges students to picture themselves in a STEM career by designing the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps of the future.
